Hello everyone! みなさんこんにちは!(Mina-san, Konnichiwa!)

Today I would like to introduce you the world’s first Hedgehog Café🦔 in Tokyo, Japan!

Oh, by the way, Hedgehog is called “Hari-Nezumi” in Japanese and written like “ハリネズミ.” “Hari(ハリ)” means needle and “Nezumi(ネズミ)” means rat in Japanese.

In recent years, animal cafes became one of the popular places in Japan that there are different types of animal cafes, for example, cats, dogs, owls, bunnies, birds, flying squirrel, or reptiles etc.

One of the famous Hedgehog Café in Tokyo is called “Hedgehog Café HARRY.” They have 2 cafes in Roppongi, 2 cafes in Harajuku, and 1 café in Yokohama Chinatown. Each location has a different interior design and occasionally offer different animals.

Café 1: HARAJUKU --- Café close to the Harajuku station. Specialize in Hedgehogs.

Café 2: HARAJUKU terrace --- They have Otter, Hedgehogs, and other animals too!

The one I went to 3 years ago was in the HARAJUKU store, so let me introduce the experiences I had in this HARAJUKU store.

HARAJUKU store locates in a building that is 2 minutes walk away from Harajuku station.

The café is designed by Brooklyn style of the house design.

While you get inside, a breeder will take you to one of the seats.

Each seat has a deep box where Hedgehogs wait for meeting you!

Some hedgehogs are sticking together, sleeping, moving, and eating their treats.

In this café, you can hug (it is more like hold) and feed them. Besides this, you are also able to order a cup of drink.

While you hold them, you can wear globes that breeder gives if you prefer to wear, but you are also able to hold them with our bare hands. Some of the hedgehogs are so small that it only fits in half size of my hand↓

Isn’t it so adorable?👺

Me and my friends joined for feeding, hugging, taking a bunch of pictures, and playing with hedgehogs that day.

At the very end, the breeder showed us the biggest hedgehog in the café.↓

We loved how his facial expression HAHAHA.

The below picture tells that this hedgehog was too big that my friend needs to use both of her hands to hold it ↓ (*This is back of his body.)

We took a final picture with this lovely and big hedgehog and left the café.

Even if it was my first time of visiting animal cafes and holding hedgehogs, I really had a pleasant time of playing with the hedgehogs and also healed by how Kawaii (means cute in Japanese) they were.

If you want to have more information about HARRY café, please check out the following website! (Their website is also written in English, so don’t worry.)

*Plus, if you consider visiting here, make sure to make a reservation!

Thanks for reading my blog for this week and I hope you enjoy it!
